Set contains C-frame press, 3 receiver tubes sizes: 2-3/4"x3", 2-1/4"x 2-1/2" & 1-3/4"x2", installation and removal adapters.
Set also includes 4-wheel drive ball joint service kit.
Allows service for 1967 thru current 1/2 and 3/4 ton 4WD vehicles having the Dana 44 front axle (found on Ford, GM, Dodge, IHC and Jeep vehicles)

Astro Pneumatic's 7865 Ball Joint Service Tool with 4-wheel Drive Adapters is a heavy duty forged steel tool and set that is excellent for removal/installation of press-fit parts such as ball joints, universal joint and truck brake anchor pins, even removing rusted and corroded parts. Astro 7865 contains a C-frame press, 3 receiver tubes sizes: 2-3/4”x3", 2-1/4”x 2-1/2” & 1-3/4”x2”, installation and removing adapters. I used this on a 1st gen Toyota Tundra upper ball joint. I made my own press cups from some 2" I.D pipe and 1.5" O.D pipe. I could only us the c-press and two adapter discs from the kit, I was ready for this, I mainly only needed the c-press. I modified one of the adapter discs with my grinder so it would hold the 2" I.D pipe and a notch to fit around the spindle on the truck. Once I had it setup it pushed both ball joints out with ease and I used the c-press to install some ball joint adapters that came with some aftermarket UCA's. This press looked the best quality without spending a lot more on an OTC version.

I watched a few videos of people banging and pounding on the caps with sockets and hammers to remove the old joints and install the new ones. This tool paid for its self and then some during its first use.

Quote was 4 hours per side at over $100 per hour shop rate to do the lower ball joints on our SUV. This tool easily handled the job and will be around for probably the rest of my lifetime. The case is junky and will probably break but for the price I'm super happy. I also did some ATV joints by making an adapter out of pipe.

The quality of the tool is great. I can't say for sure but I think that this would probably even work in a professional setting surprisingly. You would need more adapters though. Quality seems to be on par with the units that NAPA sells for twice the money. At the very least this would get you going for a few years until you can drop the bucks on a Snapon or something like that.

Worked well actually got away with using only a 12” crescent took all I got after the first to get the second on. If you have the proper tools to modify the receiver tubing and shorten it you will have zero issue removing and installing the upper ball joint from the arm. Making it properly flush as strong of steel would be my only worry but with a proper breaker bar and some extra leverage you can go it no need to dis assemble the entire hub unless you want to inspect it all anyway. Quality product if you take your time and dis agree with power tools and quality work unless you are a seasoned mechanic. If you took the time to read this, I promise it’s worth the money saved vs. 280 I was going to spend for a universal kit with smaller reviver cups. Thanks be safe jack stands are cool!!!

I want to give this product a five star, but with a ginormous caveat. The press itself does exactly as advertised. The issue however is that it does not include everything you need to work on a Wrangler JK. The screw works great both with a impact and with just a wrench. The spacers and top caps work fine, but but is missing two key pieces which is a small piece that pushes out the ball joint, and the part that goes underneath the top spot for pressing the new joint in. For that you will need something like 4PCS Ball Joint Service Adapter Set for Jeep & Dodge – Upper and Lower Ball Joint Press Tool for Removal & Installation – Compatible with Jeep/Dodge Models- Replacement for OTC 7894. Without that you will have a heck of a time doing this job. So five star for what the tool as advertised in, but make sure you get those extra two piece to add to the kit, or you won't have a great experience.
