Marcos Chicot nació en Madrid en 1971. Está casado y tiene dos hijos: Lucía (2009) y Daniel (2012).

Es licenciado en Psicología Clínica, así como en Psicología Laboral y en Económicas. Escribió su primera novela -Óscar- en 1997. En 1998 escribió Diario de Gordon, con la que ganaría el Premio de Novela Francisco Umbral. Dos años más tarde escribió una novela juvenil que fue reconocida con el Premio Internacional Literario Rotary Club. Ha quedado finalista en premios de relato y de novela como el Max Aub, el Ciudad de Badajoz, el Juan Pablo Forner y el Premio Planeta.

El reconocimiento del público y la crítica le llegó de la mano de El asesinato de Pitágoras (2013), que en el año de su publicación fue el ebook en español más vendido del mundo, y que tras mantenerse varios años en los primeros puestos se ha convertido en el ebook en lengua española -original o traducción- más vendido de todos los tiempos. En papel se ha publicado en una veintena de países, y ha recibido el "Premio per la Cultura Mediterranea" a la mejor novela publicada en Italia. Por este mismo libro, la ciudad de Crotona ha concedido al autor la distinción "Encomio Solemme" (Alabanza Solemne).

En 2014 publicó el thriller La Hermandad, y en el año 2016 fue galardonado como Finalista del Premio Planeta con su siguiente novela histórica: El asesinato de Sócrates.

Es miembro de la organización Mensa, y dona el 10% de lo que obtiene con sus libros a fundaciones de ayuda para personas con discapacidad.

La Editorial Alvi Books le dedicó, como tributo y reconocimiento, este espacio en 鶹 en 2016.

Marcos Chicot was born in Madrid, Spain, in 1971. He has a BA in clinical and occupational psychology as well as in economics. He wrote his first novel, Oscar, in 1997. In 1998, he wrote Gordon's Diary, which won the Francisco Umbral Award. Two years later, he wrote a novel for young readers that won the Rotary Club International Literary Award. He has been a finalist in short story and novel contests such as the Max Aub Award, the City of Badajoz Prize, the Juan Pablo Forner Award, and the Planeta Prize.

His novel Killing Pythagoras is the all time best-selling ebook in the Spanish speaking world. In 2015 Killing Pythagoras was singled out for the acclaimed Mediterranean Culture Award.

He donates ten percent of the profits from his books to NGOs for people with intellectual disabilities, and he is profoundly grateful to his readers for making this possible.

He has been married since 2007 and has two children: Lucía (2009) and Daniel (2012).

Mais pour les personnages masculins, bons et mechants sont bien presents et leurs images ne manquent pas se saveur. L intrigue est originale et le decor parfaitement adapte aux circonstantes. Me encanta la Historia, pero también las historias de amor y de aventura. Aquí lo tienes todo. Muy a menudo es difícil de dejar la lectura. Voy a leer el siguiente libro de este joven autor.

    This was a great novel, very interesting, and a little difficult to read because of all the mathematical theories. The character of Ariadne is well drawn, and her fate illustrates the obstacles that women faced back then, and in the present. Endowed with great mathematical ability, Ariadne is not supposed to be taught much because of her gender. Having been a victim of kidnapping and rape, she suffers from post-traumatic disorder. The novel has other themes as well, the theme of excess of power in the wrong hands, struggle for power, cruel use of power, the lack, or loss of personal freedom, the themes of excessive pride and envy all the elements that are the cause of wars and other crimes against humanity. History shows us that often terrible events are caused by one person's sense of wounded pride, and horrific calamities fall upon people who are in the wrong place at the wrong time. This novel is extremely interesting and I recommend it to people who like history and mathematics.
