A process exclusive to Arches, sizing “to the core” gives every sheet on every pad of Arches cold press watercolor paper astounding absorbency, as the pH-neutral, gelatin-sized internal and external fibers hold pigment in place without over-saturation. Easily correct liquid media mistakes repeatedly with minimal warping to this textured paper. Each pristine sheet of this 140lb cold press watercolor paper has been securely fastened on the top short side with a strong, pH-neutral adhesive that also aids in shape-retention. Not only are these watercolor supplies durable, but they are also versatile. Arches can be used as more than just watercolor painting paper; this exquisite, thick paper functions well with all wet techniques such as ink, gouache, and acrylic painting as the cotton fibers adapt to whatever medium you choose to craft your work. With 3 spectacular sizes available in pads of 12 140lb (300gsm) sheets, this is the ideal painting paper for artists. Arches cold press watercolor paper contains no optical brightening agents (permanent in accordance with ISO 9701).     I bought this thinking it was a block, but it's a pad that is gluebound at the top, so I decided to use this pad for experimentation, especially with the decent price. I love the texture of this paper for wet-on-wet techniques, but it will definitely buckle a bit unless you wet + stretch the paper. It has never pilled or torn on me, even after reworking an area multiple times with gouache. This paper really makes colours pop and water easier to control. Can handle many glazes :)
