I've always wanted "sea monkeys" growing up. I always saw kids getting the kits at museums and on field trips. I was never allowed them. That was in the late 90's and early 2000's.
Gosh am I ever happy that I didn't get them back then, for a couple reasons.
For one, the information slips are very basic on the "Sea Monkey" kits- I received one as a gift this year. For two, I know I wouldn't appreciate them as much as I do now.
Like mentioned, I received a "sea monkey" kit earlier this year. WHAT A BLAST! I had to get my own container, which prompted much research. I had hatched them at my parents house, and I missed watching them when I went back home for the week. So I needed more babies!
I did A LOT of research. Can I have tank mates? What is safe to have in the tank? Can I add plants? Should they be live? And then I stumbled upon a great website, Aqua Dragons.
The information! Squee! Yes!
This came in super quick, I already had the water and tank ready. Instant joy! The food is JAM PACKED with nutrients. The eggs are ready to open and hatch with no 24 hour wait. I am over the moon.
I didn't know what I was getting into with "sea monkeys". I did not know they would be a million times cuter than the pictures on the "Sea monkey" kits.
I am the happiest adult child, and LOVE LOVE LOVE my little brine shrimp babies. Today, they will be getting an upgraded tank with live plants.
