I like this pie plate due to the weight. It was made in the US so felt it was of good quality. I find it is great for making apple pies due to its size and will not slide around in the oven.
After purchasing this plate which i do like, i learned walmart has the same size plate which is the pyrex brand at everyday price of $5.97. I paid to much but will keep them as the quality seems fine as well.
I originally bought these for a nicer alternative to plastic saucers for my bigger plant pots. They arrived right before Thanksgiving (pie season) so these guys got recruited into service. I used my Straub and Emile Henry plates for pies but these were great for casserole dishes. I’ve been using them ever since for Shepherds pies and other dishes. They are a great value for the the price. I’ll have to get a second set for the plants!
So I've had a few of these Anchor pie plates kicking it around for years I got in some larger sets... But could never seem to find the exact same kind of generic ones in stores, only their more frilly designs. I came to love these for heating up dinners in the oven and just eating off of them as a plate! Especially good for saucy/brothy stuff! So I finally bothered to look them up online, and unsure if they would be an EXACT match for the ones I had, figured I'd go for it anyway.
These seem to be the same ones as are found in their packs of mixed size glass baking wear. Mine did not have the Anchor logo in the glass, but were stamped USA with all the other typical warnings in the glass. They also had a sticker which said made in USA, and had Anchor Hocking paperwork attached to each. I'm pretty sure these are completely legit. I've bought a lot of Anchor stuff over the years, and I've noticed there can be little differences in the same item over the years. I've got stuff with no logo before, I've got stuff with EVER so slightly different designs/tolerances. These pie plates are identical to one I bought maybe 2-3 years ago, but almost imperceptibly different than ones that are clearly supposed to be the same thing from about 10 years ago. But you'd never notice unless you're OCD like me. LOL
Mine were from the seller Made In USA Shop, it sounds like some other sellers may be selling actual knockoffs under this listing, but I don't think these are. As with all Anchor stuff, it's not "fancy" or high end. There can be minor ripples in the glass or what have you... But they're sturdy/strong, look plenty good enough if you're not serving the Queen Of England, cheap, and made in USA. You can never go wrong with Anchor products IMO. I may well order another 4 of these now that I know they match the ones I have!

I prefer to bake my pies in glass as I can see the bottom of my pies and avoid having a soggy bottom. Can’t beat the price and it was delivered the next day. Very pleased with my purchase!

Baked in all 4 of them, mostly baked directly from a chilled state into the oven and NO issues with shattering glass. I was kind of freaked out by the other comments her about the pie pan glass shattering but I have not had that experience. Great deal! I do wish they were the style with little handles on the side but for the money, I’ll deal with not having the handles ‘cause now I can make a ton of pies for the holidays!

Made in the US is especially important to me, I know the quality is good with Anchor Hocking. There were prettier pie plates but they were made in China, wasn’t interested. These are good pie plates!
