    Waited for the Black Friday deal, cheaper on 鶹 than via Ancestry, because they charge 20$ for return delivery of the sample, and not 鶹.

    For those who wrote negative comments because they couldn't manage to post it themself, than just to bad for them. And no, its not 'total junk' because of that. Some people expect to be taken by the hand to do anything! Simple, register your sample, answer the question, than you receive an email with mailing instructions, that you print and then tape over the box in which the sample was sent to you. Go to the post office, bingo ! Simple as 1,2,3 ! All you need is a bit of resourcefulness.

    I bought two of these in December. Having seen reports that all lawsuits about misuse of DNA data against these companies fail due to the consent process, I read it carefully. The last clause involves consenting to virtually any use the company calls 'developing new products and services' which clearly allows them to sell your data. One support call led to the recommendation to simply not consent to that clause (which I think is reasonable considering that isn't what it's marketed as/sold for) in subsequent consent screens. Though being assured that was possible, it is not. The second call said 'use this form'... a feedback link. I did and received no answer after three weeks.

    I believe I should be refunded (did not register or use the kits) since I did not see any indication when sold that the product could be used in ways I'd never consent to. I also think people should be very careful about buying such kits.

    As a physician, I am very aware of how your data could be useful to pharmaceutical companies and insurance companies. Quite possibly to your disadvantage, though you pay for the kit. There's no fiduciary duty to you that the uses of the kit will be in your interests.

    Buyer beware. In my case, I wont use these kits even if I am refused a refund.
