Using 2 of these locks, front and back door. Installation was no different and as easy as any other deadbolt keypad lock install. Comes with a drilling template if installing on a new door or widening an existing hole. Instructions say to hold your palm up to the keypad to wake it up, I find it's not as awkward and easier to use the back of my fingers instead of my palm and it does the same job.
Z-Wave connectivity and set up was very simple. Using a Nortek HUSBZB-1 USB Hub to connect to Home Assistant with Z-Wave JS. Connection was quick and simple, discovered all entities right away. It's good practice to disconnect from a network (**-Master Code-#, 8-2-#) and then connect to a network (**-Master Code-#, 8-1-#) just to make sure it's clean to connect to your new network. Disconnect/Connect is instant so you don't need to wait between pairing/unpairing.
You might need to take the lock off the door and bring it closer to the Z-Wave hub if distance/obstructions are an issue. I installed it on the door first to make sure locking mechanism, alignment, and code programming were good. Then took it off and connected everything back up on my workbench at my hub. Re-installed on the door after connected to my Z-Wave network.
There are some reviews about communication mix match between HA or the app reporting the wrong status. Showing locked when unlocked and such. Kept a close eye on this and haven't noticed any discrepancies for 2 months. Likely fixed in an update.
Overall a great lock and looks slick. Would recommend to friends.
