This varnish is beautiful and leaves a slightly glossy coat.

It is not an overly larger bottle but a little goes a long way.

The lid has a brush attachment to spread the varnish on the clay.

It works only with air dried clay after the clay is full cured.

Easy to use and protects the item for long standing durability.

The package includes two 100ml sized bottles of glaze. There’s an applicator brush attached to the lid that looks like a long nail polish brush. It’s small and hard bristled, so if you’re finishing a larger project you’ll want to use a different brush. Given the length of the brush, you also have to watch out for drips since the handle brings a lot of glaze with it when you pull it out of the bottle.

The glaze applies nicely. I used the suggested 2 coats on a small air dry clay ornament, giving it more than the required 30 minutes between coats. The final result looks great. The varnish gives a very smooth, glossy coat.

I was very new to trying out different sealers, gloss/varnishes. This one stinks. It's very chemical smelling and gave me a severe headache in only a few minutes. I was in a well ventilated room but because I was focusing on the details of my work, the fumes got to me.

This varnish/ high gloss finish is so good. My kid had a clay sculpture project for school that needed to last for 2 weeks at school in an area that all the students can view the projects. Being his first time trying to create a clay statue of any kind he was extremely worried it would break before school or it would fall apart. I applied a few coats on it and the results were so good. I really wish I would have taken before and after pics . It really made the whole thing appear more sturdy and definitely helped it to look like a better quality project. I will be using this I. The future on my own art projects.

This glaze adds a nice shine and finish to small projects. I don't know how it would hold up if used on an outdoor item, nor if it would make a white item turn yellow. Does it cause some pigments to run? I'll update once I have the answer to this. What I like best is not having to wash the brush. It goes right back in the bottle like nail polish.

I’m working on a wooden model of the Tudor-era ship called the Golden Hind (or Golden Hinde as Sir Francis Drake might spell it). I needed a figurehead—of a young deer, of course—and tried whittling some soft wood down. It only needs to be about 1.1/2” in length, but I couldn’t get a realistic enough one at that size. So I tried air dry clay. After a couple of attempts I was able to fashion a realistic figurehead from this. I’ve painted it (gold of course), and lacquered with this varnish. The results look pretty good. Once I mount it on the bow of the ship I’ll snap a photo and add it to this review.

For one that does a lot of arts and crafts, this glaze works well. The wife uses it to seal the work she had done on mostly wood and clay decorations. The bottle comes with a small brush attached to the lid but it is on the small size much like a finger nail brush. It is a little to small when she works on anything over about 3 inches where there becomes the risk of brush strokes. It does work well on the items when applied with a 1/4" soft bristle brush. And once applied, it helps the fast drying by using a craft blow dryer. It does work well and adds to the beauty of what you are making. It almost odorless and has a thin and pretty gloss finish.
Why 3 Stars and not 4 or 5. It is thin requiring more than one coat for durability, it is a small bottle with small opening, with the small brush it is best used on small projects, and it is a little pricy compared to others on the market.
