One of the better acoustic pickups for the money.

- Reviewed in Canada on September 12, 2022Verified PurchaseI purchased acoustic pickups from different sellers for comparison sake as I need one for multiple acoustic instruments, and I gotta say this one sounds far better than the other one I've ordered which also had Prime 1 day shipping. This one is about $10 more but sound quality wise is far superior in terms of sensitivity and clarity, especially for a studio recording setup.
Volume control: Has a volume control knob which goes all the way from completely muting the sound (can still hear noise if you directly touch the pickup though) to a decent volume level at max volume (only complaint about this I would have is it would be nice if it could go louder, but that's not a concern if you have a mixing board/ powered amp with a volume knob for extra volume). 5 stars for including volume control.
Sound quality is perfect, just the right amount of highs and lows and can clearly hear both chord strumming and finger picking chord patterns, as well as individual notes. There is no noticeable background noise when finger picking or strumming either, which was an issue I've had with a different pickup I've ordered by a different brand and was the major reason I've returned it, as I needed a pickup for studio tracking my acoustic instruments. 5 stars for the sound quality.
Ease of installation: Now, this isn't an issue if you're going for a permanent set up, but is a similar issue I've had with the previous pickup I've ordered: double sided tape stickers to hold the pickup in place. I'm not a fan of this style of mounting as it can damage the body of the instrument when removing, especially if it's lacquered. Thankfully the double sided sticker included with this one is not as strong as the 3m sticker included in the other pickup, but is still somewhat of a concern to remove regardless (at the moment I need to slowly twist the pickup to avoid causing damage). Another downside to this is the stickiness gets affected the more it's removed/put on (now multiple double sided stickers are included to replace the worn stickers, but again, why stickers). Personally, I'd much prefer a suction cup style (I used to have that style of pickup many years back and worked like a charm for my steel string acoustic as well as my nylon string guitar both for studio tracking and band performances), or clip style for mounting the pick up (similar to the violin pickups) for ease of removability if using for multiple instruments, however again this isn't a major concern if you're planning on keeping it as a permanent set up. Giving this a 4 star only cause of the double sided tape being the form of mounting this particular pickup.
Overall, I'd say this deserves a 5 stars for the price and quality of this pickup, personally I'd drop it to a 4.5 only cause of the mounting issue, but that's more of a personal preference issue.

- Reviewed in Canada on July 23, 2023Verified PurchaseAmazed there is no residue from sticky substance on the ukulele when it is removed. Sensitive to any movement on ukulele body.
Sometimes some slight static with movement of cinnection to amp.
- Reviewed in Canada on December 16, 2024Verified PurchaseBought this for a casual "gig" (strumming some Christmas songs at my work Christmas party) and it worked great. If you are going to be playing a particular uke plugged in regularly it's likely best to invest in a proper pickup to install in a dedicated instrument but if you are more casual, or aren't sure if a permanent pickup in your uke is what you want, I think this is a good option. I suppose the other benefit is that since it isn't permanent, you can play around with seeing what various instruments would sound like amplified and whatnot.

- Reviewed in Canada on August 14, 2024Verified PurchaseI attached this piece of GARBAGE to a $700 classical guitar, and after being on the guitar for three days, attempted to remove it.
It was like it was glued to the surface of the guitar!
After struggling for half an hour, it finally came off, leaving a substantial mark on the top of my guitar.
There's NO way that this product was made to perform like the seller states.
My guitar was devalued, and I would bet the seller is aware, that this item will cause damage to guitars... they've probably had other complaints.
DO NOT purchase this product!
- Reviewed in Canada on September 30, 2022Verified PurchaseThe volume is good in my opinion, loud, clear. However it sounds much warmer if you place your palm and press on it a little bit (If I have 3 hands). Otherwise, it doesn’t sound warm, high treble.
I tried it on my Fender amp.
- Reviewed in Canada on February 16, 2024Verified PurchaseBought this for my mandolin. Works great and sounds great as long as you are not moving around too much . I love the fact that you can adjust volume and an disconnect the microphone at the unit itself . I leave mine mounted on the instrument at all times and it doesn't seem to effect the sound when not plugged into an amp. Much better than removing it and re-applying like some others.

5.0 out of 5 stars Turned old acoustic guitar into Electro-acoustic
Verified PurchaseSound quality was surprisingly good. The pick up was pretty balanced, not too airy and plasticy. used it with the Ampero 2 stomp and had no issues using an IR to turn the sound into something great.

5.0 out of 5 stars great sounding pick up
Verified PurchaseWasnt expecting too much from this as just needed for emergency back up. Very impressed, have used it on classical guitar and mandolin. Sticky backing was too sticky at first and had trouble removing but found out if I dont press down too hard it holds firmly and is easier to remove. Excellent product for the price
