I purchased acoustic pickups from different sellers for comparison sake as I need one for multiple acoustic instruments, and I gotta say this one sounds far better than the other one I've ordered which also had Prime 1 day shipping. This one is about $10 more but sound quality wise is far superior in terms of sensitivity and clarity, especially for a studio recording setup. Volume control: Has a volume control knob which goes all the way from completely muting the sound (can still hear noise if you directly touch the pickup though) to a decent volume level at max volume (only complaint about this I would have is it would be nice if it could go louder, but that's not a concern if you have a mixing board/ powered amp with a volume knob for extra volume). 5 stars for including volume control. Sound quality is perfect, just the right amount of highs and lows and can clearly hear both chord strumming and finger picking chord patterns, as well as individual notes. There is no noticeable background noise when finger picking or strumming either, which was an issue I've had with a different pickup I've ordered by a different brand and was the major reason I've returned it, as I needed a pickup for studio tracking my acoustic instruments. 5 stars for the sound quality. Ease of installation: Now, this isn't an issue if you're going for a permanent set up, but is a similar issue I've had with the previous pickup I've ordered: double sided tape stickers to hold the pickup in place. I'm not a fan of this style of mounting as it can damage the body of the instrument when removing, especially if it's lacquered. Thankfully the double sided sticker included with this one is not as strong as the 3m sticker included in the other pickup, but is still somewhat of a concern to remove regardless (at the moment I need to slowly twist the pickup to avoid causing damage). Another downside to this is the stickiness gets affected the more it's removed/put on (now multiple double sided stickers are included to replace the worn stickers, but again, why stickers). Personally, I'd much prefer a suction cup style (I used to have that style of pickup many years back and worked like a charm for my steel string acoustic as well as my nylon string guitar both for studio tracking and band performances), or clip style for mounting the pick up (similar to the violin pickups) for ease of removability if using for multiple instruments, however again this isn't a major concern if you're planning on keeping it as a permanent set up. Giving this a 4 star only cause of the double sided tape being the form of mounting this particular pickup. Overall, I'd say this deserves a 5 stars for the price and quality of this pickup, personally I'd drop it to a 4.5 only cause of the mounting issue, but that's more of a personal preference issue.
