The ARCTIC MX-6 is a carbon filler-based thermal paste and reaches its maximum performance without burn-in, directly after application and distribution. It achieves all of this without any reputed ingredients, such as expensive diamond dust or various precious metal particles. The silicone gel used as a carrier enables optimal distribution, which is achieved through even contact pressure, for example when mounting the heat sink.

20 % Better Performance

With its improved composition, the ARCTIC MX-6 has a measurably lower thermal resistance than the MX-4.

We measured the absolute thermal resistance of both pastes on our lab-testing machine, which is much more accurate than a CPU. Two factors are mainly relevant:

-Minimum Bond Line thickness

A lower thermal resistance of the paste leads to a lower temperature difference between CPU and cooler.

Versatile range of applications

With its new composition, MX-6 is the suitable thermal compound for many application scenarios. Excellent non-drying and non-bleeding properties ensure consistent long-term performance. Its viscosity prevents leakage due to the pump-out effect. It's also suitable for direct-die cooling scenarios which occur, for example, with graphics cards or console processor GPUs.

100 % original through Authenticity Check

To ensure that your paste is genuine, there is the ARCTIC Authenticity Check. This allows every product to be reliably verified. A counterfeit offers neither the performance nor the durability of the original ARCTIC pastes.

Easy application

MX-6 is neither electrically conductive nor capacitive. This eliminates the risk of short circuits or discharges, which can cause serious damage to components if care is not taken. The thermal paste is also free of liquid metal components, which can often lead to discoloration, abrasion or corrosion damage to the radiator bottom.

Available in several versions

ARCTIC MX-6 is available in package sizes from 2 to 8 grams. Resealable syringes prevent the paste from drying out and facilitate dispensing. Alternatively, the variants with MX Cleaner are available. These enable simple and residue-free cleaning of the contact surfaces. The cleaner consists of 100% Limonene, a natural substance obtained from citrus essential oil.

The MX-6 thermal paste performs very well in heat transfer and paste application. Temperature drops were noticed immediately under load and re pasting the CPU was very simple as the paste has a slightly higher viscosity compared to MX-4. Spreading the paste for full coverage was fairly simple and quick.

The MX cleaning wipes are a double edge sword compared to iso propyl alcohol. While it does a great job breaking down the old paste for clean up, it also makes the paste very runny. It does not affect any clean up per se but it does get a little messy and stain a lot of things like automotive anti seize.

Finally as noted by many people in the review section, the odor of the cleaner is definitely strong. I highly recommend this job be done somewhere ventilated and throw the wipes directly in the outside trash can.

However, there is one detail – if you use the wipes that come with the package to remove the old thermal paste, don’t forget to (VERY CAREFULLY) clean the surface of the CPU/GPU (or any other surface you wiped with the thermal paste removal wipe). If you don’t clean the surface of your CPU/GPU, the new thermal paste won’t stick to the surface, and it will be very difficult to apply it evenly. Other than that – everything is perfect!

En el QR viene un escaso manual de cómo aplicar la pasta. Para los que no tengan experiencia, recomiendo mirar antes algún vídeo o buscar a alguien que te enseñe. De verdad que es más sencillo de lo que parece, ánimo.

Pequeño truco de pobre. En el vídeo utilizan un cristal de metacrilato para escampar la pasta. Yo recorto una tapa de tupper de comida china para llevar, transparente, bien limpio, por supuesto; no me dejes aceite de tallarín 3 delicias en el micro, y tan estupendo como el metacrilato.

Las toallitas limpiadoras son buenas, lo que recomiendo es que con papel de cocina y con cuidado, quitar primero el chapapote que me dejaron de fábrica. Es decir, con cuidado hacer movimiento circular hacia arriba encima del micro, como si estuvieras escarbando un agujero. No lo hagas como si estuvieras limpiando un cristal o se te irá la pasta por todos lados.

Otra cosa será ver qué pasa con el tiempo, puesto que es la primera vez en mi vida que tengo que cambiar la pasta térmica. El portátil tiene unos 5 años. No sabía que la obsolescencia programada había llegado también a la pasta térmica. ¡¡Y es un Asus!! Ya sabéis, las marcas conocidas nos venden calidad y nos cuidan, ejem ejem.

Quitando este detalle, el portátil funciona estupendamente, pero claro, no dejo de pensar en cuánta gente habrá comprado otro y las tiendas les habrán dicho: "Sí, sí, sí, es que 5 años es muy viejo ya, ahora la tecnología cambia muy rápido". Y con esto, más consumismo, más basura, etc. Vendedor contento de vender y cliente contento de estrenar "maravilloso".

Il y a bien une différence de température avec les températures sur GPU et CPU d'un pc portable.

La pâte est épaisse par rapport à la version MX-4..

D'ailleurs, je ne vois plus de saut dans les températures comme avec MX-4.
Le CPU pouvait aller de 45C à 76C en quelques secondes.
Avec MX-6 , la température grimpe petit à petit.
