It's very sweet and has a strong maple taste that comes through even when you're mixing it with other stuff (I've tried it with yogurt bowls and over bitter apples). Texture wise, it's definitely more watery than actual maple syrup, but personally that doesn't make a difference to me when I'm mostly using it just to drizzle over pancakes.
