Classic Ship: STAR TREK: The Original Series featured characters like Captain Kirk, Dr. McCoy and Mr. Spock, but their ship, the U.S.S. Enterprise, became just as indelible as the characters.
Classic Kit: Scale modelers have been building this classic kit of the U.S.S. Enterprise since the beginning, but it’s modern updates to the tooling and decal sheet make the building experience better than ever.
Great for beginners: The low part count and easy-to-follow assembly instructions make this glue-together model kit a great one for newbies and experienced modelers alike.
THE PERFECT PRESENT: Don't know what to get dad for his birthday? Or maybe you have an avid hobbyist or collector in your life. This model kit makes an ideal gift for any occasion!
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on 鶹. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

This is the 2023 version of the original model kit. There are a lot of loose flashing on the kit and lots of big seams that need to be dealt with. I painted with ordinary automotive gray sandable primer. I glued it together with super glue in a plastic squeeze bottle from dollar tree. The super glue grabs very fast and is sandable. There are big seams around the edge of the saucer which you have to sand and fill with either more super glue or Bondo body filler. This kit is quite expensive at $47, so I don't know if you want a kid to put this together, but if you spends some time, you can get good results like I did. You can find my video on how to build this kit on youtube.

I put this together with one of my kids as a first model-making experience and it was a good one. Not a lot of parts to get confused over, though some of the parts do not "snap tight" and require a little bit of patience to hold together while the glue/cement dries. Also, please note that the decals in this version are ONLY for the Enterprise and not for any other Constitution Class ship.

Really, the only thing this model has going for it is the smooth saucer surface (of which I don't care, either way) and still very thin plastic. It has a three piece mid section, AHH! , and two clear parts only. I suppose you can make the finished product well worth the venture, but for me it goes on the back burner for now. See the Revell kit, it's far superior (cost a bit more also).
