i hardly ever write amazon reviews. and i buy a lot of stuff here.
but i can't believe how amazing these things sound.
how is is possible for these little amps to power full range, floor standing loudspeakers with ease?
i have a PLinius 9200 integrated amplifier which has been my main system amp for the past 20 years. these A07 max amps are giving me 95% if not 98% !! of the performance i get out of the Plinius.
I'm using two of them in dual mono. if you are planning to buy one of these, just buy two and run them in dual mono and dont even think about it. ( dont forget to flip the mono/stereo switch to mono.)
the amps have all the bass, slam and detail that i would ever need.
i can imagine how good they sound with the 48 volt power supply as they only come with the 36 volt.
after an hour of listening at room filling sound levels, i walked over to the amps to see how hot they were thinking they would be boiling hot - they were producing zero heat. basically room temperature.
same with the power supplies. literally cold to the touch after an hour of very loud listening.
i don't understand how more people don't use these in place of more expensive hifi stereo amps.
there is just no need, unless youre spending many thousands of dollars.
IMPORTANT:
a MAJOR tip i discovered about these amp is if you're running them with a streamer like the eversolo or WIIM as your preamp (which is what i recommend) be SURE to run your streamer in PASS THROUGH MODE or constant volume mode!!! such that you CAN'T control the volume with your streamer.
this sends the maximum signal to the VO7 amp which allows you to then turn down the amps volume while still listening at the same level, this achieves a much cleaner sound than running the amps at max and controlling the volume with your streamer.
i believe the manual suggest to run them maxed and then control the volume upstream. dont. run your source at max and control the volume with these amps and thank me later.
