    Having used a Scrigit scraper before, I always found them handy for removing labels or scraping "stuff" off windows or items that can scratch. Scrigit are good tools but I found them expensive for a simple plastic item that is manufactured by the millions. Thought I'd try these out since you get 3 times as many for half the price of set of Scrigit scrapers. These emulate the hardness of a fingernail so are good to use instead of a fingernail for scraping things off. Definitely a good buy and I doubt if I'll switch back to Scrigit scrapers, since these are just as good and come in different widths and shapes. Didn't think I'd use the hooked ones much but found they are handy for cleaning dried paint out of paint can grooves.

    The key with scrapers is for them to be harder than the thing you were scraping and slightly less hard then the surface beneath. For my current project thumbnails are perfect, but it's too large a surface to do that way. These are slightly harder than a thumbnail, while the best known brand in this space is just slightly softer than a thumbnail, at least comparing to mine. This means these will work more easily and stay sharp longer on some surfaces but may have a slightly higher risk of scratching the surface beneath. In any case test in an inconspicuous area and use the least strength that does the job efficiently. I sometimes use them even on a subsurface that they can scratch if forced too hard, and am just careful with it, e.g. if the surface is mangling the S brand too easily or I'm willing to run the risk of a few scuffs that need to be retouched, to make the job go faster. This is for a major refinishing project where these tools are saving hundreds of dollars and better for the environment than the alternative methods to remove a shelac top coat and expose the original finish, and in many areas it won't even need any further work as the original finish was not prepared in any way and the top coat is coming off cleanly.
