After about 10 hours of playing with this track and testing many many settings and configurations, I can honestly say that this is a great track. Here��s my breakdown.

You have to get the feel for the cars and the track. Each car is going to be a little different. That might take 20 minutes of switching cars around and adjusting guard rails. Once the rails are adjusted in the right place and the cars stay on track in first gear, move to second. If they��re flying off, either adjust the guardrail placement or loosen the screws that hold the magnets. That brings the magnets closer to the track and helps keep them on the track.

After adjusting each car, I found only one can run at the fastest speed continuously without crashing. Another car can only get to 3rd, another to 2nd, and the last can only use 1st gear. I wish all could run in the fastest but this is a starter set and these are good cars but they��re not precision tuned with the bigger magnets you find in some more expensive cars. Remember, this is an inexpensive starter set.

My beat recommendation for adjusting the magnets on the cars is to loosen the screws as much as you can without them dragging/touching the track. If they��re flying off cars can sit stationary while upside down in a loop and don��t drag, that��s about as good as it gets if it doesn��t drag.

As for the paw controller, I think it��s useless. Even my 6 year old grandson prefers the steering wheel controllers. Younger kids may prefer it though and if they like Paw Patrol they��ll be that much more excited to use it.

The description says these cars go 370mph. Not sure how they figure that but I think they can go around the track in about a second. 13.5 meters per second equates to 30mph. I think that��s more accurate. They are super fast though. I never expected something so fast.

As for the durability, it��s great so far. Don��t force anything and don��t bend these like rubbery plastic hotwheels tracks. Treat them gently. I��ve assembled and disassembled it half a dozen times each and had no issues. Take the time to so it for your kids so they can enjoy it a long time. It��s an awesome track!

I have this set and the one that is slightly more expensive than this one. For the price this set is pretty fun and well constructed though if I were only getting one set I would go with the slightly more expensive one first and maybe get this one later to have two of the ��pet�� controllers and expand the track.

This track differs from the more expensive one mainly in the size of the track and the loops. This track has 2 normal loops whereas the more expensive model (MR-03U) has 4 loops with lights. The more expensive loop also has a chicane rather than a straightaway. The track barriers on this set are full plastic while on the other model they are made of flimsy paper and don��t keep the cars from flying off.

The ��pet�� controller sounds like it��s meant for your dog or cat but it works well for small children as you can dial down the power to the lowest setting where the car won��t fly off the track at full throttle. You only get one of these and the normal controllers at the lowest power setting will still result in the cars flying off if you use full ��pedal��.

The cars in this kit are a bit boring compared to the other set. There are two race cars and two police with all of the cars resembling each other.

The set comes with spare parts so if the plastic tab on the car gets broken you can easily swap it out. The plastic track material isn��t necessarily sturdy enough for a small child to assemble without potential breakage but overall the track is easy to put together and take apart and the box is sturdy enough for storage.

This set fits on a medium sized coffee table whereas the bigger set takes up a normal sized dining table so if space is a concern this set might work better.

The track looks fun and the paw remote is really cute. The boys had fun with this, it functioned as it described for about an hour and then they were moving it around too much and having a younger sibling/cousin and puppy around didn��t help at all. The track assembled very easily, unfortunately it also came apart easily, the copper pieces that are inserted into the cars to keep them on the tracks come out surprisingly easy and the rubber tires band comes off, not safe for the little ones. They give you extra pieces to replace them if they get damaged or go missing, which was happening quite a bit due to the boys leaving the cars unattended and in reach of the toddler and puppy. The side rails were a little flimsy and we had a hard time keeping them in place. I eventually had to pick it all up so that the ��little ones�� would not keep getting in to it and so that the boys wouldn��t end up having it all lost or broken. They can take it back out when the puppy and toddler are a little older or not around to get into it. If it were just the older kids and safety for the younger ones wasn��t an issue this would be a good value for the price point.

When I started dating my husband, he dug out an old James Bond slot car racing set. I had never seen one before - his dad worked at toy companies and he had the coolest ones. We had a blast, so when I spotted this set, I remembered how much fun we had and thought my grandson (5 1/2) would really get a kick out of it. It does not disappoint! It went together easily and everything was very intuitive for him to play with it. The hardest part was keeping his 18 month old sister from bugging him - we had to find her an equally cool toy lol. Really pleased with this set and can't help wondering if maybe it will survive a nice long time - and my grandson can introduce slot car racing to HIS girlfriend one day!

I love the smaller foot print, it can fit on a normal coffee table with a little room to spare. All the listed parts were included along with a simple manual. Assembly is super easy, but first time connecting track pieces together can be a little tight. One thing I really like though is the ability to use 8 AA batteries for the smaller kids, instead of the wallwart power supply. But, when the bigger 'kids' want to pay, it is just a simple unplug the battery box and plug in the power supply and off to race. The lap counter works great with these 1:64 scale cars, but as it is a mechanical counter it does only goto 10 laps.
The controllers look great, and it includes a "paw-troller", though not one of my dogs would get near it. The controllers have a small slide switch that steps up the upper voltage, i.e. left most is normal speed, and right most is "extreme". While the controllers do a great job of varying the supplied voltage through the lever, it does not allow the slower speeds that trigger controllers do, for things like driving around to the start line...
The cars are great looking, very fast and well decorated. Unlike AFX/Tyco/Life-Life cars of the past with the motors inside the chassis and several gears in the path, these use small can motors geared right to the axle.
The car lights do work, but they just light up the whole front end of the car, the police light does not blink.
Several sets can be combined into a larger layout with more accessories. These are great race sets for kids of all ages!
