using them on MacBook and on Twelve South USB-C Docks clamped inside an aluminum vertical stands

using them on MacBook and on Twelve South USB-C Docks clamped inside an aluminum vertical stands
update: I have been clamping my MacBooks in a plastic upright vertical stands and I had my bloated battery replaced and the one thing I noticed is that my MacBook is now overheating while docked and clamped closed vertically. A message would pop up saying that my system is now degraded and running slowly and I should close one of my apps (which is infuse which plays movies). SOOOO I took my heat sink and my aluminum vertical stand and placed the heat sink against the bottom of my MacBook and the other side of the heatsink directly against the metal aluminum vertical stand... Added some wedges to ensure that my MacBook is firmly flat and against the heatsink.... and ran my app again.... and voila... no more overheating... no more degradation.... such a simple solution. So I will be buying another 4 more heatsinks for future use. HIGHLY recommended!! original review: I had no idea what I was looking for when I found these heatsinks but when I saw them I thought they were perfect for keeping my USB-C hubs cool while being clamped within vertical stands. I have 4 USB-C Docks for 4 MacBooks all routed to one HDMI switch to output to a 4k HDR TV. When I first connected my docks to my MacBooks the docks were strewn all over the place and it took me quite a while to come up with a solution and that was to clamp them into the vertical stands that I use for my MacBooks The only problem with clamping them within vertical stands was the heat being trapped within. Thus the heat sinks clamped alongside the USB-C hubs really cool the hubs down. Now when I touch the hubs they are no longer hot to the touch and most likely will last a lot longer than a year.

Sufficiently large enough that the heat sink adds additional cooling to a double MVMe case, and also works for a single device depending upon the size of the enclosure.

Used in on top and below my switch and it maintains it at the correct temperature.

I bought them because my backplate was running pretty toasty even after a full internal thermal pad swap. I was maxed out at 110C on mem and then I used thermalright odyssey pads to replace the internal and backplate pads. That was the most drastic improvement. It alone brought my temps to a max of 96C mem junction and 64C core. I then bought these heatsinks along with 0.5mm thermalright odyssey pads to cover the entire surface of the heatsinks. This brought my temps down to 88C mem and 60core, then I added a 140mm noctua fan and now I am getting between 80-84C on mem and 56C core. The 3090 is a powerhouse but needs some work to unlock full potential. I am finally happy with the thermals.

Not sure why there is a rating value for Adhesion, there is no adhesive that some with it. That said, no complaint with the heatsinks.

I have a very hot running switch. It has smooth surfaces that heat conductive tape will work well with. These sinks made a difference.
