Front and Rear Cover Alignment Tool

Special Design.

  • For GM LS1, LS2, LS3, LS7, LSA, LS9 V8 engines, the front and rear seals is with Teflon inner sealing lips.

  • For better seal function and longer service life, it’s important that the seals must be aligned perfectly concentric to the front diameter on the balancer hub and rear sealing surface on.

Oil Pan Alignment Tool

Function

  • This tool mimics the oil pan thus providing critical alignment of the oil pan and front cover.

Instructions

  • This Front and Rear Cover Alignment Tool Kit is used to install the front cover on any GM LS engine.
  • Align the seals perfectly concentric to the front diameter on the balancer hub and rear sealing surface on for proper seal function and longevity.
  • You will have to exercise care to align horizontally the cover to the oil pan.

Installation of front cover: (no seal installed in Front cover):

  1. Loosely install the front cover.
  2. Install the seal tool over the snout of the crankshaft using the large end.
  3. Check the alignment to the oil pan.
  4. Tighten the front cover bolts to specifications.
  5. Install the balancer lip seal.
