What is blue light?

Blue light is a part of the visible light spectrum that’s not only present in sunlight, but in the light that comes from your digital devices, including your MacBook. Although blue light helps to keep us alert, it also has a number of unwelcome side effects.

Why is blue light so harmful?

Unlike other forms of light, the eyes cannot effectively filter blue light, so more can pass through the eye to the retina. Blue light produces both benefits and concerns for our eyes and overall health.

Exposure to too much artificial blue light, especially at night, from electronic devices may lead to poor sleep quality, difficulty falling asleep, and daytime fatigue.

How do I reduce the blue light from my Laptop?

Our anti-blue light filters block up to 99% of damaging UV and blue light emissions between 300-400nm, and as much as 54% of harmful blue light between 400-470nm.

Fortunately though, Our blue light filters for MacBook Air and Pro block blue light before it gets to your eyes. This helps to keep them in tip-top condition, reducing dryness and facilitating focus.

  • We recommend that you measure it diagonally from each edge — from the top left corner down to the bottom right corner. For even more help, check out our diagram image on the product pages.

  • Yes, if you can’t find a filter matching your screen size, you can buy a larger one and cut it down to fit. Of course, be careful!
