About this item

  • In a pot, heat 600ml of water
  • When the water is hot (it doesn't need to be boiling), add 4 Tbsp. grass jelly powder. Cook with low heat and stir for 1 minute until the powder is completely dissolved.
  • Remove from heat and transfer to a heat resistant container. Let it cool down for a few minutes at room temperature. Refrigerate until the jelly sets and it's cold (approx. 2-3 hours).
  • To serve, either cut into evenly sized cubes or simply spoon out, and serve at the bottom of your cup.
  • Top with ice and your favorite bubble tea drink

    I make this all the time in both drink and jelly form, and have tried several brands from Taiwan that are available here in Vancouver and so far this is the best.

    It doesn't clump as much as the other brands, and I can keep it in a jar for quite a while. The consistency is really good, and it has the simplest ingredients, and you can make it to any consistency you like.

    It's out of stock right now but I hope they restock soon!

    Good, quick to cook (6 minutes - 3 at high heat, 3 at simmer), and good texture afterwards. Only thing is that you have to eat quickly - moisture starts to collect out of the balls after about a month. I didn't freeze until I realized this, so I'm not sure how well it freezes usually, but the texture isn't as good after freezing the way I did.
