5.0 out of 5 stars Another great addition to this series.
Verified PurchaseI love these books - they make the best birthday presents or just buy one for some thoroughly interesting reading yourself.
This one covers the all important end of WW2 (plus lots more of course) and is again very well written and presented. I love the lengthy and informative 'News Journal' sections of these books - they provide a very useful and interesting overview of what happened in that year and therefore set the expectation of what you can expect in the rest of the pages.
Some notable sections (in my opinion only of course - you may prefer others) cover the reconstruction of Britain following the War, military technology, extraordinary feats of heroism, for example Oskar Schindler and some notable double agents and a really good sub-section at the end of the book detailing WW2 Memorials.
If that wasn't enough, there's a lovely picture of the gorgeous Helen Mirren in the 'Born in 1945' section - let's face it, who's not going to drool over that?
Brilliant - keep 'em coming.

Verified PurchaseA lovely, nostalgic book. Very interesting and informative about the period straight after WW2. With lots of photos from that time, customs, recipes, film stars and much more. I bought it for my brother-in-law’s 80th. birthday and he was most appreciative and loved it!
As did I ( I had a sneaky look before I wrapped it) 🤫lol😉
